POSITIVELY PROMOTING MARKLAND (PPM)
The mandate of the Positively Promoting Markland committee is to investigate, develop and recommend to the full Board ways and means of enhancing the image and profile of the Markland Wood area in the GTA. The target constituency includes first and foremost residents but also elected representatives, visitors, people in transit, youth and others interested or impacting on the quality of life within Markland Wood.
This Committee is about the Towers in Our Neighbourhood and other development within Markland Wood. Currently, this includes the developments at 240 Markland Drive, 4340 Bloor St W and 210 Markland Drive.
This Committee regularly attends meetings held by the GTAA and includes concerns about noise, traffic and constructions at Pearson International Airport.
The mandate of this Committee is to oversee changes to our Constitution, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Code of Conduct for Board Members.
MARKLAND WATCH CO-ORDINATOR
In 2006, the Markland Homes Association set up a series of Crime, Safety and Vandalism committees to investigate, discuss and liaison with the Toronto Police Services, 22 Division, The Toronto Parks Department and the Toronto Public and Separate School Boards. Although this committee has evolved, we continue to be connected with the authorities to try to help solve some of the growing issues within the Markland Wood and surrounding area. The objective of Markland Watch is to keep the residents within Markland Wood safe.
For more information please email MarklandWatch (at) marklandwood.org.
