President's Update

Georgina Balascas

Hello Again!

Now that daylight savings time is gone, it is a sure sign that winter is almost here! But who would believe those wonderful warm temperatures that we had the first week of November! What a pleasure! Now if only we could keep it that warm for the rest of the winter season! Is it obvious I am not a winter person?

Darkness now falls very early each evening, so please be careful walking and driving and heed the signs you may have seen on people’s lawns that say “Please Slow Down.” Making “Slow Down” lawn signs available to members of the public is an initiative of the City of Toronto’s Transportation Services Division through the Fall Safety Awareness Campaign. Councillor Holyday has provided these signs for our community. They are available to each household, free of charge. We still have a few of them available, so if you would like one please email Anna Schaefer at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and one will be dropped off at your home. Thank you to those residents who have already placed one on their lawns. We may use the signs until November 30th and then we can use them again next spring, starting April 1st. We are hoping that these signs may decrease some of the speeding that occurs on our streets.

If you will not be home that day, please leave your food donation on your porch or with a neighbour. We will also be picking up clothing, toys and small house wares. Please ensure that all items are placed in a plastic garbage bag or box and placed with your food clearly marked so we can load accordingly.
