President's Update

Anna Schaefer

Greetings!

Summer vacation seems to get shorter and shorter each year, doesn’t it? Especially when summer never really gets here, weather-wise! Oh well, maybe next year? Fall colours will be here before we know it as the children settle into another year of school. Speaking of school, there will be more pedestrian traffic now so I urge you to obey the rules of the road. The City will be installing a new “flashing” sign on Bloor Street close to St. Clement Catholic School in order to calm the speeding at certain times of the day. The speed zone will be dropped to 40km/hr at key times of the day when the students are crossing Bloor Street. This is long overdue. I cannot tell you how many drivers have run red lights whilst our children are crossing. Look out for the new sign and be advised that the new speed zone will highly enforced.

Christmas Caravan 2013

The Markland Homes 46th Annual Christmas Caravan was held on Sunday December 15th, and went off well planned, well-orchestrated and well............

This year’s planning was a little bit harder than in the past but with perseverance, extra effort and fingers crossed, it all came together and Caravan was another huge success.

The Saturday before Caravan we had a decent snow storm during the day and the temps were cold. After shoveling and clearing off some of the vehicles, we got another few inches of snow that night. Shovel the snow and clear off the vehicles again.
