What do visitors see in Markland Wood?
Mature trees blooming in spring, well maintained properties, residents walking their dogs, jogging, cycling, roller blading or talking on the street. There are many green spaces with four schools and two large parks. Witness the children playing. Markland Wood is a wonderful
place to raise a family. Practical information: 10 to 12 minute drive to the Lester B Pearson (Toronto) International Airport. 3 Km walk, jog or bicycle ride round Markland
Wood or up to Centennial Park along
the Elmcrest (Renforth) Creek pedestrian and cycle path. TTC bus route #49 takes us to the Kipling
Subway station. Mississauga buses stop on Bloor Street, Burnhamthorpe Road,
and Dundas Street West bus stops. There are two shopping plazas located within
our neighbourhood: The Markland Wood Plaza at Bloor and Mill Road and the
Burnhamthorpe Mall at Burhamthorpe and Saturn. Both
have grocery stores, banks, and various smaller shops and services.
Sherway Gardens and Cloverdale shopping centres are literally minutes away. The garbage and re-cycle day is Wednesday.
