The Markland Homes Association Scholarship Awards

The Markland Homes Association wishes to award scholarships to two graduating high school students from the Markland Wood Community who:

1. demonstrate outstanding and consistent outreach to their community
2. have been accepted for entrance to and enrolled in, an accredited Canadian University or Community College in the coming year

Expressions of interest are expected to be submitted to the Chair of Markland Wood Award Committee annually by the 31th of May.  At that time, the applicant should provide to the Award Committee:

1. an essay, written by the student of up to two typewritten pages, describing the community leadership involvement that is the basis of the application; what motivated the students to undertake the activity; what has been accomplished; what meaningful contribution has been made to the  community, and what her or she learned from the experience
2. Two letters of support or confirmation from the community groups or individuals who have been the focus of the student’s involvement.

By July 31, the student must provide a copy of the student’s letter of acceptance and enrolment in an accredited Canadian University or community College.
